The Georgia Bulldogs will have at least one player in the Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, Feb. 8. We knew this would happen from the start of the NFL postseason. How did we know this?
Well, in the NFC every playoff team has at least one former Georgia player on their respective roster, so the NFC is guaranteed (barring a roster cut) to put a Georgia player in the Super Bowl. In the AFC, only the Denver Broncos don’t have a former Georgia player. The Broncos have already punched a ticket to the AFC championship game and will face the winner of the New England Patriots versus Houston Texans game.
Overall, there are 36 former Georgia players in the NFL postseason and former Georgia assistant Mike Macdonald is also in the mix as the Seattle Seahawks’ head coach. Macdonald and Seattle will host the NFC championship on Sunday, Jan. 25.
Thirteen of the NFL’s 14 playoff teams have at least one Georgia player on their roster. The Los Angeles Rams have the most remaining former Georgia players with four.
