Jamie Carragher feels it is inevitable Thomas Frank will lose his job as Tottenham head coach amid the club’s wretched run of form.

Spurs fell to a ninth league defeat of the season, and a sixth at home, to previously out-of-form West Ham at the weekend with Frank facing calls to be sacked from large swathes of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the game.

The Tottenham hierarchy held talks over the weekend while Frank said on Monday he felt the confidence of those above him, but Carragher feels his time in north London is up imminently – just seven months after taking the reins.

When asked if it felt like a matter of time before Frank lost his job, Jamie Carragher said on Monday Night Football: “It does, unfortunately in some ways. They’ve still got a couple of games, Champions League games as well and you think they’d have to go really well for the manager.

“You don’t like to see any manager lose their job, but it hasn’t just felt like the right fit for both parties so far.

“I hope it turns round for him, it’s not nice to see anyone struggling in football but it doesn’t quite seem like it’s working for anybody.”
