Hotline Live | Celtic’s Kyogo anniversary | Fernandez to make Gers ‘mega millions’ | AFCON chaos
It has been a busy transfer window so far – but Celtic fans are desperate to see new names come in the door.
There’s a feeling things are about to erupt at Celtic as they desperately chase a new striker. Firing Motherwell striker Tawanda Maswanhise looks a potential winner but talk of a £6m asking price has cooled that. There are plenty of others on the table, such as Wolfsburg frontman Jonas Wind.
It’s a different story for Rangers with Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani and Andreas Skov Olsen already in the door but Danny Rohl is eyeing up at least two more – with a new midfielder wanted after news of Connor Barron’s injury. Sunderland’s Dan Neil looks a good fit to step into that void.
Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts have been rocked by an injury to captain Lawrence Shankland, leaving boss Derek McInnes to admit that they might have to go back into the market once more in order to stay top of the tree. The Jambos have snapped up FK Vardar winger Rogers Mato on a pre-contract and are ramping up their bid to bring him in this month.
Falkirk winger Alfredo Agyeman is set to join St Johnstone on loan while Hibs have sent loanee Zach Mitchell back to Charlton after struggling for game time.
Down south talk of Xabi Alonso taking over at Liverpool is ramping up.

Dons keen on Jags kid Stanway

Aberdeen are “exploring” a move for Partick Thistle starlet Ben Stanway.
Sky Sports report that the Dons are keen on the 21-year-old midfielder who is also attracting interest from Premiership rivals Dundee and Polish side Slask Wroclaw.
Curtis heading for Killie loan

Rangers winger Findlay Curtis is set to reunite with Neil McCann at Kilmarnock.
The wide man has seen his share of first-team football this season but his minutes have been reduced recently and he failed to make the squad for the double-header with Aberdeen.
It had been reported he was one of the players Rangers were prepared to send out on loan and now it’s understood he’s set to join Killie, where his former coach at Ibrox McCann is now in charge.
McCann was part of the Barry Ferguson regime that allowed Curtis a major breakthrough towards the end of last season and he’ll now get the chance to rediscover some of that form in Ayrshire where Kilmarnock face a battle against relegation.
DONE DEAL! Agyeman joins St Johnstone on loan

Falkirk winger Alfie Agyeman has signed for St Johnstone on loan.
The enigmatic forward has been an important part of their rise up the leagues and had been regularly used off the bench this season until the arrivals of Ben Parkinson and Louie Marsh pushed him down the pecking order.
With minutes drying up the top-six chasing Bairns have elected to loan him out to the Championship leaders.
He’s looking forward to getting going under Simo Valakari.
