Live Vicario mistake gifts Okafor an equaliser for Leeds against Spurs

Half-time verdict

Spurs will feel the more aggrieved not to be ahead at half-time. It must be a worry for Daniel Farke that not for the first time this season Leeds only started to show some purpose after going behind. I would suggest there are more goals in this contest.

Half-time: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Good game. If Spurs’ class has shone at times so has Leeds’ power. Tottenham are using the space behind the full-backs cleverly but look very vulnerable to crosses, Vicario especially.

45+4 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Porro stops an Okafor break down the left and switches it to the other flank where Bogle stops the attack with a tackle on Odobert.

45+3 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Calvert-Lewin protests at being penalised when going up for a header with Romero but the ref still gives Spurs the free-kick.

45+2 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Tel hits the bar with a header from Odobert’s cross and Struijk bundles it away. Darlow may have got a scratch on it. Spurs are a real threat down their left with Udogie, Simons and Odobert linking up slickly.

45 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Four minutes of stoppage time are announced.

A nice moment as Ethan Ampadu has a bit of friendly banter with the travelling Spurs fans as he waits to take a throw. The jocular mood was then rather spoiled by an obscene hand gesture. From a Spurs supporter, not the Leeds skipper.

43 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Tottenham free-kick on the right after a foul on Kudus. Rodon heads Porro’s cross out and Udogie and Simons recycle it to Bentancur to run on and shoot from 25 yards, blazing it into the stands.

41 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Bentancur barges Gudmundsson over but no foul given. Then Stach is penalised for barging into Van de Ven and Leeds rail about double standards.

39 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Palhinha wipes out Aaronson with a late, studs up, sliding foul. The ref plays advantage then comes back to book him. He goes garrity at the card, miming a dive and arguing with the ref who tells him to wind his neck in.

37 min: Leeds 1 Spurs 1

Elland Road is rocking now and Longstaff gets even the stragglers off their seats with a shot that climbs over the bar. Then Okafor’s cross parts Calvert-Lewin’s hair and Spurs are struggling under the barrage of crosses.

Those of you of a certain age probably had a flash-back to Darren Bent’s ‘beach ball’ goal for Sunderland against Liverpool in 2009 as Okafor followed-up to score with a ‘penny floater’ ball in close proximity trundling across the six yard box in the breeze.

GOAL!

Leeds 1 Spurs 1 (Okafor) Bogle’s right-wing cross is cushioned by Calvert-Lewin to Aaronson whose thumped half-volley is parried by Vicario and Okafor nips in to bury the rebound. There was a beach ball on the pitch at the time but that was going on whatever the distraction.

34 min: Leeds 0 Spurs 1

Longstaff is OK. Tel is limping. Longstaff allowed to stay on to take the free-kick. Some head tennis in the box ends with the ball at the other goalie’s feet when Spurs clear.
