The Golden State Warriors have recently made moves to fill out their roster ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season. Al Horford and Seth Curry are among those to sign with the team, even Jonathan Kuminga finally signed a new deal. The franchise clearly wishes to make another championship push, but it’s tough to call them outright contenders.
A core of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green is elite, but they are all getting up there in age. And it seems like a foregone conclusion that a rebuild isn’t far away for Golden State. But there have also been rumors that the team might look to trade for a younger All-Star instead, and an interesting name has recently been mentioned.

“Bam Adebayo is another All-Star in the East who would be at the top of the Warriors’ list of potential trade targets if he were to ever request a trade from the Miami Heat, sources said,” reported NBA insider Siegel, writing for ClutchPoints.

The 28-year-old Adebayo has been with the Miami Heat since he was drafted to the league in 2017. In his career, he has helped the team make two NBA Finals appearances, alongside now-Warriors star Butler. Adebayo is one of the league’s best defenders, too, having been named to five All-Defensive teams.
While the idea of Bam joining GSW is quite attractive, it’s hard to imagine what the package to make such a trade happen would have to be. The Heat somehow always manages to field a competitive team, too, so it’s hard to see Adebayo really pushing for a trade out. Anything can happen, though, and this situation is evidently one to keep an eye on.
