Belief Newcastle United player can be signed for ‘just under €25m’ – 5-year-contract ready for window

Eintracht Frankfurt believe that they can sign Newcastle United striker Will Osula for ‘just under €25m’.

That’s according to BILD, who report that Eintracht’s sports director Markus Krösche still has his eye on the Newcastle youngster.

The newspaper explains that while the January transfer window doesn’t open for three months, that hasn’t stopped Krösche from planning ahead.

He still has his eye on Osula, who was ‘supposed’ to join them on deadline day of the summer transfer window. The striker ‘would have loved’ to make the move. Negotiations fell through at the last minute, though.

That’s not put Eintracht off. They’re still pursuing a move and keeping in touch with the player’s entourage. Coach Dino Toppmöller likes Osula and has spoken to him on the phone. The striker, for his part, is also keen on it.

And the belief is that a deal can be done with Newcastle for ‘just under €25m’. Bild say the Magpies were not the reason the original deal fell through. They would have even accepted a loan with an option to buy.

Instead, they were ‘surprised’ by a message minutes before the deadline from their Saudi Arabian owners. No more players were to leave at that point.

Thus, the Osula deal fell through and he was left at St James Park. Eintracht are now working to revive his exit for January instead.
