Kylian Mbappe’s stunning goalscoring form has been the guiding light for Real Madrid’s success this season.

The Frenchman’s form, however, would not be possible without adequate support from his teammates, and Arda Guler has emerged as one of Mbappe’s best partners on the field.

The connection between the young Turk and the French forward has been unbelievable this season, and the team’s recent game against Getafe once again highlighted the same – it was Guler who came off the bench who eventually assist Mbappe’s winner.

An undisputed starter this week

Real Madrid have their biggest week of the season so far ahead of them with Juventus and Barcelona scheduled within the span of a week.

As relayed by MARCA, however, Xabi Alonso has little to no doubt that Guler will reclaim his position as a starter for both games. In fact, the youngster may well be the first name on the team sheet.

The new manager believed in Guler right from his first day in charge at the club, and his faith in the youngster is now coming good as the player has already racked up eight goal contributions in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Guler’s presence on the field adds a spark of creativity to the team’s midfield which they otherwise lack and he is thus seen to be foundational to the setup. He will, thus, play a key role against both Juventus and Barcelona.

It remains to be seen what the youngster’s newfound prominence means for Jude Bellingham who also operates in a similar position.
